Montgomery native Alexus Greene is making her mark in healthcare through 糖心logo入口鈥檚 Respiratory Therapy Program, where she鈥檚 proving that purpose and preparation go hand in hand. At 28 years old, Alexus has already earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health Studies from Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). But it was at Trenholm where she discovered her true passion for respiratory care.
鈥淚 was originally in nursing school,鈥� Alexus shared, 鈥渂ut I didn鈥檛 enjoy everything that came with it鈥攅specially dealing with the entire body and all that entailed. Respiratory care felt more focused and interesting to me, especially working with the heart and lungs.鈥�
Her decision to join Trenholm鈥檚 accredited respiratory therapy program came after hearing glowing recommendations from friends who had graduated before her. From the start, Alexus excelled鈥攕o much so that Dr. Lee, one of her instructors, nominated her to represent Trenholm in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) student initiative known as Next Generation RT.

That recognition led to an even greater opportunity: Alexus was selected to represent the state of Alabama at the upcoming AARC National Conference, a gathering where delegates from across the country discuss hospital policies, clinical standards, and advancements in the respiratory field.
鈥淚鈥檓 really excited to see how different states handle healthcare regulations and to learn how they collaborate to improve care across the country,鈥� Alexus explained. 鈥淚t鈥檚 inspiring to be part of those conversations and see how small ideas can make a big impact in hospitals nationwide.鈥�
Beyond her studies, Alexus is deeply committed to community service. She volunteers with Forever 24, a nonprofit founded by a mother who lost her son to an asthma attack. The organization focuses on asthma
prevention and education, and Alexis helps at local events , assisting with outreach and awareness efforts.
Her involvement and leadership have not gone unnoticed. When asked why she believes she was chosen to represent Alabama, Alexus humbly credits her dedication, grades, and initiative. 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 because I鈥檓 always eager to learn and stay involved. I don鈥檛 just want to study respiratory care鈥擨 want to contribute to it.鈥�
Alexus also credits Trenholm鈥檚 faculty for preparing her to stand out in the field. 鈥淥ur teachers make sure we鈥檙e overly prepared. During clinicals, people often say we know more than some therapists already on the floor. That鈥檚 because our instructors push us to think critically and be ready for any situation. If something happens, I don鈥檛 want to freeze鈥擨 want to help.鈥�
